I see this keyboard on ebay S 900 on eBay and am wondering if this is a common problem with the S900's? Also, would anyone have knowledge as to how to fix it? I sent the seller a question regarding warranty and have yet to receive an answer. Since it's listed as new, does that mean I could report the problem under warranty?

I had a PSR-510 a long time ago , and the spring on the pitch bend somehow came off,
So I just turned it upside down and removed a bunch of screws , took the back off and put the spring back on he wheel.
It work great after that and never came off again !

But having both the pitch bend and the modulation wheels not working at all , I don`t know , that might be more electronic than mechanical.
Could be that the wheels work mechanically , but no difference in sound is produced.

I was going to ask that question , but , if an S900 is in my future , I want to buy where I can return it if need be.

Better paying a few dollars more for piece of mind !!

It's still got 4 days to go, the price will go up making it less and less of a bargain.
Also if you are not getting the owners manual are you getting the warranty card?
With all the problems people have reported here with their new s 900's I would only buy from a dealer I could trust to stand by me if there is a problem. It wold be worth any extra money for the peace of mind.
IMHO Lets watch it for a while.

Cassp it is not a common problem. Yamaha Canada reports no such issues.

There were a few early production models that were shipped to the USA that exhibited various defects, but this has since been addressed.

Could be just a plug not fully inserted, but then again...you pays your nickel...you takes your chances.

The manual was not included with it when I acquired it. I deal with Musiciansfriend.com the company, and they sell me direct many items that are new that have small manufacturing defects with them. This keyboard is a new keyboard that was found to have the 2 manufacturing defects as noted. Prior to me acquiring it they threw away all factory box's and manuals. Only items included with it is the AC adapter. I would assume the factory warranty does not transfer past me, as I am not an authorized dealer. The controller wheels will not be fixed before shipping, as it would take weeks to have it shipped off to Yamaha for service. I hope this answers your questions. I guess that answers my questions. If it's an easy fix, someone will get a good deal. Me, I'm not buying anything that questionable. Anyone got a 3K for sale?

I posted an anwer to this one on Smallgig. Essentially, the wheels can easily be replaced in less than an hour and all you need is a screwdriver.

As for the other issues, I wouldn't touch this one with a 10-foot pole. It really smells fishy.
