Hi Folks,
I have installed the O/S upgrade Ver
1.20,but the computer does not recognise it.
I have swiched on the Tyros While holding down the Music Finder button.
Also I have noticed that the Midi-Usb Driver
icon disappears from the control panel and the Device Manager.Do I need to udgrade the Midi-USB driver(It is Ver 1.22),If so where can I get it from?.

Yes, Tyros OS version 1.20 requires 'Yamaha USB Midi Driver' version 1.61 or later. Check your email. I just sent you the version 2.08 which is working great for me.

btw: I just checked and there's an even newer version 2.09 now available. I'd assume, but not did not verify, if 2.09 supports the Tyros or not. Version 2.08 though, specifically states in its associated READ Me text file that it supports the Tyros.

I've visited the Yamaha site you mentioned.But I am running Windows 98 and I don't think that driver will work ,as It is for Windows 2000 +XP.

hi Alf: I'm really curious what Tyros OS version you were running previously, and if you able to get your computer to see your Tyros HD & transfer data between your PC/Tyros with the older USB midi Driver version 1.20 installed.

I suspect that you'll need to upgrade from Windows 98 to Windows XP in order to use the new Yamaha USB-Storage Mode (HDD) feature. I checked the Yamaha installation documentation and it clearly states that both Windows Me/2000/XP and Yamaha USB Midi Driver version 1.61 or greater are required to work.

Unfortunately, even the earlier Yamaha USB Midi Driver version 1.61 requires Windows XP or Windows 2000 to run.

If anyone here has been able to get this to all work on Windows 98, please let us know here, otherwise, Alf, I'm afraid you're going to need to upgrade to Windows XP if you want Tyros-PC USB connectivity.

I was using OS ver 1.1 and USB driver ver 1.22 before and it worked fine.
As you say,I will have to upgrade to XP.
I have got Windows XP,but I removed it because of problems.I will now reinstall it.
