Hello everyone,

I'm having an annoying problem when changing sound quickly on my PSR-3000.
When I still hold the key with current sound (for example: Piano), then I press reg memory button or OTS button to change sound. It will sound annoyingly and unsmoothly !

Anybody has this problem and any solution ?

Many thanks in advance !

The problem is caused by the effects changing before the sound changes. I don't know the solution though.

Thank you DonM,
I'm so annoyed with this problem. I didn't encounter this kind of problem on my last KB (PSR-550)
I think there should be a solution for this and hope to discover soon ! :-)

You could maybe minimise the impact of this behaviour by ensuring all your registrations use the same reverb / chorus effects for R1 / R2 / L voices and just alter the fx mix as required.

Of course this will compromise voices that use the effects to add other characteristocs, such as organ rotary speaker effects. Maybe you could patch these to use one of the other effects blocks and thus not affect the ones used by the keyboard voices?

Many thanks to MacAllcock,
This is very good advice, I hope to minimise this problem by this way.
I'm using a pedal to apply sustain effect for the last key before I change quickly to another sound. However, this doesn't help much.

Thanks for your idea, I will try !

Regards,

The only solution is lift fingers off the keys when changing.

Hi Graham
This is also one of solutions. However, when you're using sound which needs sustain effect (like string, trumpet, ...) if you lift off fingers suddenly, it sounds unsmoothly.
This problem doesn't happen with old-range keyboard (like PSR-540, 550).
This isn't really big problem but it's so annoying ! :-D

Thanks you guys for all posts

Hi Baluan:

I also find this problem very annoying.

What I sometimes do is assign 3 of favourite sounds to the R1/2/3 (with their own effects), and then switch between them, by using the R1/2/3 switches. It also means you can easily play the sounds simultaneiously when you want. Because they each have their own effect, you don't get that annoying sound when you change.

Hope this helps,

Zalmi
