I was looking for some Christmas styles to help me put together a little program. I found Midispot through the Roland Keyboard Club. I clicked on Roland E 80 under the "styles" category and 7 Christmas songs came up. I listened to the audio clip of each one and they were all different. So I purchased all 7 only to find out that there were really only 3 styles used. In other words, "Sleighbell Swing" was used for 3 or 4 songs and it is just the same style applied to a different song. I was under the impression that it was customized to each song since it was under the "style" category and each audio clip was different. Apparently, just a different variation of the style is played in each clip which leads one to believe it is different. The bottom line - I spent much more money that I needed to. The 3 styles are very nice but I didn't need to purchase 7. If the same variation had been played in the clip I would have known it was the same.

I hope you wrote and told them the same story and asked for a refund.
I would have!

I think they are in the Netherlands or Denmark - something like that. I did email my discontent but they didn't answer. I just hope others read the post and don't do what I did. Guess I'll learn how to make my own styles. Chalk it up to experience.

Were the Intros and Endings and OTSs the same for each style, or is that an area they changed the style (and hence could charge for as a different style)...?

MidiSpot actually DO give the name of the style used in their songlist, and it is very apparent (at least I thought so) that several different songs use the same style. Caveat emptor, I guess, but double check those Intros and OTSs before you start thinking you've been ripped off...

And contact Nicolas at MidiSpot if you DO find them to be identical, I'm sure that they can address your problems in a fair way...

Post your discontent on http://roland-arranger.com . There are a lot of European members there and maybe someone can help you.
