Hi friends:

Last night was at the Guitar & Keyboard City (the Phoenix location), we had the first meeting of the "Amazing Arranger Adventure Club", my co-worker and friend Juan Miguel Zarate and myself conducted, we had 12 people, my friend Tapas, along with other customers that have arrangers like the Korg PA 50s, Roland VA76, PSR3000, Tyros 1 & 2 YOG 625s among other boards.

At the beginning we assumed that it would have to be the most basic kind of talk, I was very surprised when questions about how to make a midi file, alteration of styles, how to use the vocalist, registration management, etc.....it was very nice to find that the people are interested in getting to know their boards.
We started with a Musical welcome showcasing the Arrangers with a medley of 8 different songs (very short ones), all play in REAL TIME and changing brands and models, we had the Korg PA1X and the PA50, the Yamaha Tyros2 and the PSR3000 and the Roland GW7, most connected to a small PA with a small sub-woofer just to give a nice sound without blasting, no gaps between the songs, so I think it came out nice.
The topics are going to be interesting, people want to know what web sites are available for styles, midi files, etc....I will be looking forward to see how this develops, next time I will take pictures and will keep you post it.

Hi Manuel,

Thanks for sharing your exciting new arranger keyboard club concept. If I only lived closer to you (and Tapas) I (and I'm sure many others here) would have loved to attend and join your club as well, as it sounds like a unique opportunity for club members to hear, play & compare all the different arranager keyboard offerings available out there. It sounds like your store, Guitar & Keyboard City in Phoenix is yet another unique store in the USA, in addition to George Kaye (Ca), and Dan O'Neil (MD) that specifically features arranger keyboards. Perhaps you can take some pics at your next Arranger Adventuare meeting, and share them with us.

In the meantime, it's great to know that we Synthzone members have yet another knowledgable & trusted SZ member friend & Music dealer salesman: Manuel Dorantes, to contact when shopping for your next arranger keyboard. Guitar & Keyboard City, Phoenix, Az

What a great Idea!

Congratulations on this innovative approach. I wish there were something like that in my New York area.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi Manuel.
All the best for your keyboard club, I'm sure many people will find your knowledge valuable and it's great when people can get together sharing ideas, playing, listening to feedback etc.

I used to go to an organ club about 22 years ago and that was great at the time, but as I got older and synths and arrangers started to advance the novelty wore off for me.
The club is still going strong and now welcomes arrangers as well as the organs, so I will have to pay them as visit when I get time, as I was the first member to ever join the club I really should show my face again hehe.

Hi,

This must have been an exellent performance! If only I could have visited the meeting.

Don't miss the chance to invite new friends to the synthzone fora.

Best regards,
George

Manuel,

Congratulations! This sounds like a great way to help lots of folks to learn the intricacies of their keyboards and the associated components as well.

Good Luck,

Gary

Manuel,

I am glad the first meeting went so well, and sorry I did not know about it - last night was one night that I could have made it too. Sounds like I missed a very informative and entertaining event.

If you will be kind enough to email me about the next meeting (or post a notice here on SynthZone), I will try to make it then.

Best regards,
Alex

Manuel:

Sounds like you got a good thing going, would love to set in but its a 20 hour drive. Lived in the Phx area for 32 years have lots of ties and friends there, performed in the valley of the sun for about 20 years, miss the people there. If you ever put a jam together, would be tempted to pick up scott on the way down and maybe get to meet you guys....pose

mdorantes,

Bob (in AZ) should be contacting you with regards to a workshop. The idea would be to use your current store for the Arranger workshop fest. When he does, please get back to me so we can work everything out.

Thanks,

AJ
