Does anyone know if Mackie makes a 12 inch subwoofer?
I know they make a15 inch but it weighs 88 lbs....much too heavy. Would a 10 inch work with my two Peavey 10 inch powered speakers? The two Peaveys sound pretty good but I'm thinking of adding a little more bottom if a subwoofer doesn't get to heavy.

Look for an EV Sb120a. It's a 12" 300-watt sub that looks like an SX100 and weighs less than a Mackie C300 speaker. I have both and the EV is a great add-on. Bought mine a few years ago used at GC for $200 - best purchase I've made in years. Here's a non-powered version just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. If you can find the powered one, buy it. You won't regret it.

GC is Guitar Center - sorry, I thought everyone knew that. Next time I'll be more careful.

The EV is excellent for the type of Peavey's that you have. It won't overpower them at all, but will open up a lot of headroom for you. It'll give a lot of thump to your bass without clouding up the entire mix. Good luck

Another smaller SUB alternative to the great Mackie SUBS which are a bit heavier but sound AWESOME....& to compliment the 350's is this Roland KCW-1....I had success with it in the past...lighter in weight also..

Well as long as we're giving other options here, how about:
http://www.dbtechnologies.com/mod_produkte.cfm?pgid=1&pugid=5&psugid=7&pid=58

(hope that link works)

Db Technologies Stage Opera sub 400w rms. (15")

STAGE OPERA 41.15
• 1 x 15"
• 400 W/RMS active
• 30 – 150 Hz
• max SPL: 127 dB
• XLR/jack input
• Parallel output
• HF-Out XLR
• Stereo-Crossover
• Dynamic limiter
• cutoff frequency 100 Hz
• 480 x 500 x 500 mm
• Weight 24 kg/ 43 lbs

I've used this thing for 2 years or more and would not leave home without it!

Though I must say the other options given here may be more suitable as you have 10" Top Speakers.

My set up is 2x 12" 400 watts a side, so the 400w 15" is a perfect match (we play some fairly large(ish) venues.

You might not need that much power though and the 12" sub 200w options might suit you better.

Either way, G'luck!

Has anyone try using the sub from the Logitech Z5500?
At a cost of $229, it seems to have possibilities. And you would have an extra PA system.
