Does the Tyros include (like the PSR9000 & 9000pro do), a dedicated setup & configuration window for the Yamaha MFC10 Midi Foot Controler?

hi Donny, I haven't made a final decision yet. I'm still doing my homework: asking questions & gathering information. Donny, When you said "Too", it sounds like YOU 'have already' made the decision to purchase the Tyros.

The other two keyboards (in addition to the Tyros) I'm still seriously considering are the Ketron XD9 & Technics KN7000, but the Tyros does seems like the most natural upgrade from the PSR2000, especially if it supports the MFC10 Foot Controller. I hope someone can still answer this.

Scott

No Scott, I meant along with all the other peoples statements on their purchasing of a Tyros not myself. I see a XD9 in my near future... :>)

I wish to thank Simon Williams (SVP World) for responding to my topic thread question (on the Yahoo Tyros forum) and reporting that the Tyros indeed fully supports (via setup config window) the MFC10 Foot Controler (which I myself own):

For all those interested, I've included his detailed response here:

The Tyros has a comprehensive setup page for the MFC10 foot controller. Using an optional MFC10 midi foot controller, you can control a wide range of operations and functions of the Tyros with your feet. You can also add up to 5 foot controllers to the MFC10 for additional sound shaping possibilities. You begin connecting the
midi output of the Tyros to the MFC10 and then set up the parameters on the Tyros for the MFC10. Then you transmit the settings to the MFC10 by midi, and remove the midi in connection to the MFC10, replacing it with a midi out connection from the MFC10 to the Tyros.

Perhaps what is even more interesting is that you can use a computer or another midi instrument INSTEAD of the MFC10 as a controller! So, you can use note numbers and control change messages from say
any other midi controller, keyboard or a computer to perform functions and operations on the Tyros.

The functions and operations possible either from the MFC10 or another midi/usb device include ; volume control (for different parts also), sustain, sostenuto
(sustains only the notes played when pressing the pedal), soft, glide (pitch bend), portamento, pitchbend, modulation, dsp variation, harmony/echo, vocal harmony, talk, score page increment and decrement, song start/stop, style start/stop, tap tempo., sync start, sync stop, intro 1, intro 2, intro 3, main a, main b, main c,
main d, fill down, fill self, fill break, fill up, ending 1, ending 2, ending 3, fade in and out, fingered and on bass, bass hold, percussion (plays a selected percussion instrument), right 1 on/off,
right 2 on/off, right 3 on/off, left on/off, ots+, ots-. You can of course also connect up to 3 pedals to the tyros directly. Regards, Simon
