It has a 38,000 note sequencer. My question is about the auto-accomp. Does the sequener get used up by every note created by the auto-accomp or just the chords played that trigger the auto-accomp?

I think that the sequencer records all the note played by the autoaccomp.
I have sent to other 9000 pro owners midifiles recorded in "Quick record" mode and they sounded right even if the others didn't have the corresponding styles loaded into the flash memory bank. This means that the midifile was not just sending info about the chords played: it was actually playing the whole arrangement.
(Hope that makes sense...)

Seanbaker. Dreamer is correct all the Yamaha Easy Record takes in all the Acc Notes played and saves as a MidiFile.
The Technics boards I belive however only trigger the chord from a control track. Possibly this may have changed on the KN7000. Maybe a Technics owner can confirm this.

Well, even if that is the case, has anyone ever noticed running out of space in an average length song? The MOTIF has 100,000 notes or seomthing like that,so I'm wondering why the 9000pro is so much less and if it would be a problem for me. I sequence with the rhythms and bass lines mainly and then add my other parts manually so I'm wondering if I will run out of space on the 9000pro.

never run out of notes so far (even for songs with a very "busy" rhytm section lasting for more than 5 minutes)

I wonder why the TRITON and MOTIF have such huge note capacity then? Because those users have told me they run out of notes with minimal orchestration. There must be something else going on. Hmmmm

Whey they say they run out of notes I'm sure they mean Polyphony... I've never heard of anyone running out of notes for user songs on either keyboard. The Triton and the Motif only have 62-64 voice poly, where as the 9000 Pro has a good deal more.. Some sounds on the Triton and Motif have a lot of elements and use heavy DSP (which limit actual number of notes played... They have such a huge note capacity because they can store more than one song in memory, and they are keyboards designed for in depth song creation "especially in styles like Dance Techno, hip hop, R&B... Some Dance and Techno songs can utilize a lot of notes, especially if you're using things like arps.. Hope I answered the right question for ya..
