Hi! I use a Crown CM211A. I've used it for about a year, and it's had between 500-600 hours of use. It's starting to sound a bit muffled. Could it be the keyboard input on my PSR2000? Do mics exhibit wear and tear in the sound? Anyone knowledgeable on this subject?

I am not familiar with the crown...but first thing I would check is the windscreen, if it has one.

The windscreen is mostly positioned IN the mic's 'head'..... this head can be removed by turning it counter-clockwise. (at least the Shure SM's can)
I now and than take the foam-alike internal out and wash it using a little soap.

I own some SM58 mikes with an age of 15 years, but they still sound very good.
