I am finally going to be another proud owner of a Tyros 2 in a few days

Firstly I want to know, with the speakers that come with the board, is it worth upgrading to Logitech Z2300's?? is it much difference??

Secondly, I have been searching a fair bit for a cakewalk IDF, but have had no luck. Can someone please send one to me as I will need it straight away.

my email: nickgalea83@optusnet.com.au

I will also be posting some songs and samples of my stuff for you guys to listen and advise on quite regularly.

I cant wait till saturday !!! I will be having a very sleepless weekend playing on the new board as I am sure it will be a great upgrade from the PSR 3000..

Cheers

Nick

Hi Nick,

Although I can't answer your questions, except to say I ordered mine without speakers and I am using a pair of Yamaha MS60s powered speakers which I've had for many years.

After coming from the PSR-3000 like you, I can only say you are in for a real treat.

Styles are virtually the same(there are quite a few new ones), but sound way better, and the T2's voices are just awesome.

As a veteran Hammond B3 player, I was impressed with the organ sounds, especially SA Rock Rotary(leslie on mod wheel).

The SA Saxophone is incredible.

The guitars are awesome too.

I know you'll love it as I did.

Congratulations.

Ian

I am almost buying this keyboard just for the S.A Concert Guitar sound

Nah, honeslty I have spent alot of time evaluating the T2 on the shelf in the shops and I love the overall sound quality and one of the big takers is the key feel. I play classical piano and I cant stand the soft spongy key feel of the PSR. The T2 is not hammered action, but for a keybaord its very good and I am very impressed.

I cannot wait to have it in my bedroom!!

Hi Nick,

I understand your appreciation of the key feel.

It is a great compromise between a synth and a weighted action...the aftertouch is much better implemented as well.

I didn't mind the action of the 3k until I played the T2...then I was hooked.

The SA Concert guitar is one of the best guitar voices I've heard.

I did a recording with just that voice, and a buddy converted it to mp3.

I sent it to several friends who were very impressed with the realism.

You're gonna love it.

Ian

Glad to see you've now sold your other keyboard Nick and are getting the T2 soon.
You'll always find me, Scott Yee and a few other on Skype if you need any help.
Personally I found the speaker system to be very poor sounding, far too much middle and treble and no punch in the bass department. I just take my T2's outputs and plug it into one of my PC's soundcards, then this goes out into Logitech Z-5500's when I use the T2 at home, it sounds great.

LOL, I just went there and couldn't even find my Tyros 1 version that I got there several years ago!

Try this:
http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software.htm#div

Look through the list until you find the one for Tyros 2.
