Please, give me your sincere opinion about that: to have a korg Pa50 as a second keyboard next to.....the korg Pa80.
Pros: good sounding unit and extensive editing capabilities in progam mode, can be used as a backup, I know the os perfectly since I use the Pa80, 256 styles locations where I can put on converted styles.

Cons: to not have the joy to discover something new

My other possible choices: yamaha psr3000 (but to expensive for me, now), exr5 (but not so good comments), casio wk3700 (but I want a 61 keys kb), triton Le 61 (but it is not an arranger)

Thank you for your opinions

IMO a backup KB should be just that ....the same excact KB you have now...makes it much easier to transfer info and in case you need to replace your original in a pinch.

From what I understood Stam is considering a Second keyboard for use next to his PA-80,
NOT as a back-up. If that is correct the purchase of a PA-50 would be very unwise, what is the point in a virtually identical keyboard ?
If the PSR3000 is a bit too expensive you might consider another PSR (2100, 2000), the new budget Roland (GW7), a decent secondhand Technics (the KN6000 comes to mind) or a Ketron/Solton , second-hand.

regards,
john

I agree with John. You should choose a different keyboard to increase the styles, and a different pallet of voices. You would also have the joy of learning a new o/s.

Ok Thanks,

Now, here's what I'm thinking.

After all, I don't need a second arranger, just a synth for the sounds and arpeggiator.

So, the deal is that I can have a new korg Karma at the same price than a Roland Xa.

So what do you think that will be the best choice in quality of sounds and easy of use?

Thank you
Stam

I would go with the Roland Xa because you already have a Korg keyboard so the roland would give you a different sound set.

I second the idea. It could be my imagination, but each brand, Roland, Yamaha, Korg they do have their own characters....

Thanks for your comments.
