Chony, The hinge pin is the only thing that holds the pedal together. The pin is secured with "C" rings at each end. You must remove one of the "C" rings, then shove the hinge pin through the pedal in order to open it and get to the interior leaf switch. Most of the time a minor adjustment is all that's necessary to get it working again. You may also wish to clean the contacts with a fine grade of Emory paper while you're in there. Chony, While there is a special tool for "C" rings, you can remove them with a small screw driver by inserting the tip in the opening and carefully pressing it back. Make sure you keep your finger on the back side of the ring or it will pop off into never, never land. I should know--I've done it a few times. Good Luck, Gary ------------------ Travlin' Easy
