Right now the world is a mixed a place . We all live on this small insignificant planet , and soon if fear we will be involved in yet another war. There are so many of us (this forum) who live all over this world and I sure hope we will be “OK” when the “bullets and bombs” stop.
If you look back though history there has always been war of some kind, I just hope that this family , this small group of some of the finest people , can go on in harmony the way the world should.
Maybe if all the “President's and Generals” could somehow find a way for peace we could all live as free people. All they would have to do is visit this forum and see the diversity of the people and the caring we all have and feeling that we have for each other that there would be no need for “armed conflict”. And we could all go to sleep and wake to a better and safer world.
May God bless us all , and may He forgive us , for we are just “tenants” on the “world that He created” .

Well, Jedi, it will NEVER be that easy. We will ALWAYS have to take care of ourselves and take our future in our hands! And many times, it won't be enough to sleep or "pray". Lots of thnking... critical thinking, lucidity, and courage to take action is needed... from all of us.

My wife went to a forum on war and one of the points they made was that a country should never go to war if the prospects for winning are low. Anyone thing Iraq has a good chance of winning a war with the U.S.?
Didn't think so. So why is Saddam playing this dangerous game? Why not give up all your WMD and stay in power? He could re-start all his programs once the heat is off.
Many will be killed because of on man's, Saddam's, beligerance, ego, etc. What would drive a person to risk so much in the face of total illogic? If he seriously thinks he can win, he needs psychiatric help. Some experts are saying there will be a bombing blitz that will last four days, then the bombing is over. Four days!!! Is this a winnable war for Irag?

I suppose in reality you are right but different sects interpret that one God differently...to many the supreme being is quite different from what others see him as being.

For Bin Laden to call for a gihad, would imply that he feels his God is on his side and is guiding him to call for this religious war. For us to retaliate and defend ourselves would also imply we feel our God is on our side, to fend of this evil man and his people.

As Starkeeper eluded to though, people/leaders believe they can survive massive opposing odds. Most likely they personally can, it is others that they are committing to death, as is the same in all countries.

Unfortuately the ability to kill without getting ones hands bloodied, is part of what allows us to entertain wars.
