Steve.....I just bought a Toshiba hard drive for my Tyros...I ordered a MK4018GAP and they sent me a MK4025GAS....will it work or will it be a problem for me....I live in Mexico and it would take about 2months to have it changed...I would rather just use this one if at all possible, if it will work.
This is the big drawback about living in paradise...not being able to get what you want when you want it thank you for your help

Hi Tony, the Tyros will accept just about any generic 'off the shelf' HD which meets the following criteria:

2.5 IDE
Height 12.7 mm max
40 GB max

You're in luck , as the Toshiba MK4025GAS most definitely meets all of the above Tyros HD specification criteria: http://www.bananapc.com/products/productInfo.aspx?category_id=1091&product_id=6693

I know you're going to really appreciate the onboard storage advantage of an internal 40 GB HD on your Tyros. I can guarantee you'll NEVER fill it even close to capacity (I certainly haven't mine) because Yamaha & midi files are so small.
Enjoy. Scott

Scotty....thank you.....I was worried because the chart from Yamaha listed the 4018GAP as being the one that will work.... http://www.yamahapkclub.com/tyros/info/hd.htm
that is way I was a bit concerned about connecting the 4025GAS......I got a great deal on it only $40.00 new with a 1 year gar.

Hi Tony

Have fun with your new toys. I guarantee you will never come close to filling your HD. Mine is a 30GB and I know I never will.

So fill that sucker with a bunch of goodies!

Best
