Hi everyone,

As suggested by Alec in a past thread (2003), I have downloaded the trial version of Powertracks Pro Audio with the purpose of using it (eventually) for the printing of Lead Sheets. I have followed the
instructions that were given at the time,
1. Easy Record a tune into the sequencer of my old KN3.
2. Save it as a midi file to a floppy.
3. Insert the floppy into computer & fire up Powertracks Pro audio.
4. Click File / Open. & select the required file from the "A" drive & click open.

An error box now appears telling me that the file cannot be found. I also have installed Cool Edit Pro & Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 so I tried loading the midi file into each of these programmes and it played with success.

Is there something I that I should have done or be doing to correct this action. This is the same computer that the Panasonic
SD Jukebox will not recognize the CD drives on. (another error). Maybe the "A" drive is faulty / sometimes non compatible. A floppy is required in both cases where errors are occurring.

Thanking you for your valuable input & time.

Alan

try saving it as a .mid on your harddrive and then let PTP open it.
Maybe powertracks, for some reason, just won't read your disk.

Hi everyone,

Problem solved. I have done as suggested & saved the midi file to my hard drive where PTP then was able to open it.

Many thanks again.
