I totally agree! Except that I would not limit it to jazzy stuff.

Often, when I use midi's, I turn off most channels and it's down to what a 4-man band would play. Add me playing over the top of that base and it's a 5-piece band. There are a few songs that I use the entire huge band sound because the midi or style is just so good, but a few sounds is much more real.

AMEN to Esh's idea for a super GM set. There's one need that's not been met by any company.

Make sure the Latins include some good old fashioned Rumbas & Cha-Chas.

Country styles should include several older/traditional country as well as newer country.

I agree I dislike styles that sound unrealistically 'big'. I would MUCH rather have a great tight rhythm section and add the 'big' myself if I need it. Yes, I know you can always mute parts, but usually the rhythm section reflects the whole style, the bigger the arrangement, the simpler the rhythm parts get, not what I'm looking for......

I agree with much of what's already been said. What if arranger players could build, or select the various options like that on the automobile web sites? What if we could opt-out of "world" styles, or whatever, depending on our preferences and client market, and replace them with a select menu of factory styles of our own choosing? If that were possible, I'd chunk about half of the Tyros 2 styles that never get used, at least by me.

Hmmm, so if we were to give you an Arranger Workstation with enough RAM memory to hold say 500 styles at MAP ~ $2500.00 and you were to spend another ~$500.00 to CUSTOMIZE the STYLES with your favorite 300 styles downloadable from our website, would this be an option? This way, you build your own style library from say 800 styles to choose from? Ofcourse you can always load in xxx bonus styles in PATTERN memory.

NB: The Arranger Workstation would come without styles to start with... simply the locations. As for the degree of complexity of the style, the new ARR MUTE (on the SD5) instantly mutes tracks assigned (under ARRANGER VIEW - PAGE 5/5) so you have more control over the 'complexity' of the style. The Interactive Arranger also mutes selected chord parts ONLY when you play lead sections ... this way, you are not in constant 'battle' with your keyboard.
