RE-Yamaha Grove Feature. I have a local friend with the PSR9000 who has no idea what the Grove feature is,
I think possibly its some setting within the Style Editor.
Can someone please explain in more detail about the Grove feature on the PSR's, what it does and how to go about using it to advantage.

Maybe the Yamaha "Grove" is where they grow the keyboards?..................maybe it is.

Then, if I get a seed, maybe a can grow one myself... George Kaye, what do you think? Are you ready to sell seeds instead of keyboards?

You guys may want to stick to music because your comedy needs a little work.
On the 9000, the GrOOve feature is indeed accessed through the Style Editor. It simply allows you to change the timing of the various style parts. You can create totally different styles with just few clicks.
On the 740, it is automatic. One dedicated button changes the groove. On the 8000 and 9000 it is not so simple, but the editing possibilites are much greater.
This is a much-overlooked and extremely powerful feature.

for example:

On the 9k using the groove/dynamics feature you can choose an 8Beat style and while it's playing you can keep all settings of that style and only change the "groove" making it a "SWING" beat.

Donny, can you do that easily, with one push? I thought you had to go in and save it as a user style.
Thanks,
Don

Personally I only use the groove feature for a few measures . Just enough to give the style some feel ! dano

Apparently, on the 2000, it's going to be like the 9000. You can only access it through the edit, in the style creator section. Not as good as the 740, by a big difference. Oh well.

Don,

you can change the groove timing on the fly first,.. then save it if you like it by just pushing the settings.
