The sound of street- organs and a midi keyboard .
I am very interested to try to play street-organ songs/sound at my yamaha 9000 pro .
The instrument that I mean by the name “street-organ” : you can find that at the webpage http://www.streetorgan.com
So , they are big street organs , and not little ones like an old “ monkey- organ” [ a man with a organ in front of his body with a monkey on it ]
The problem is : I cannot find on my yamaha 9000 [ also not in the xg sounds] the really good registrations of that big organs , as the typical flute/wooden pipes sounds .
Is there anybody which has experience in that way ?
Who has made a street organ midifile ?
Please answer my question or give your suggestions on this forum , will you ?
Warm regards from guillermo , holland

Hi

I'm a theatre organ nut and thought I would commnet. The street organs you are describing probably do not have a decent equivalant sound in most modern arrangers. I've had many keyboards & organs over the years and right now my best guess is that the KN7000 technics is the closest you will get for your particular sond. The organs are very good and plentifull I aslo will add that the theate organ in the KN7000 are excellent. See if there is a dealer near youto try one out.

Start with a pure sine wave tone(no leslie) and slow up the attach just a bit. Those street organs were probably bellows based, so a little delay in the attack could add to the authenticity?
Maybe even add a musette sound to a church organ to combine the reed sound with the electronic tone?
