Hello all -

I should have sent this email out about two weeks ago but have been swamped at my "other" job.

I ordered a SoundSeat Guitar Chair with large mid back and oversized footring from JR.

It arrived promptly even though JR's seamstress was out for a small amount of time.

The packaging is GREAT! This thing is indestructably packed. Comes with a lot of bubblewrap that is taped very firmly to keep everything immobile.

Instructions were great and it actually took longer to cut all the tape off than to actually assemble it.

Great quality. You can tell that JR really puts an effort into his product.

I am an accordionist so the only comfortable position for me was to use the special hole that JR now drills into each support to allow the seatback to remain in the farthest back position. This proved very comfortable. All other positions made me feel like the back was pushing me out of the chair, which is exactly why JR now incorporates that setting.

I've played my Petosa for four hours on the chair with absolutely no problems. VERY comfortable. I took JR's advice and did not get the tallest chair. I'm sure glad I got the medium one. I can keep one foot on the footrest and one on the footring.

My 40+ pound acoustic accordion is a little harder to play for a long period of time. I can play for about an hour before my leg starts hurting where it meets the chair. This in NO WAY reflects upon the chair, however. First of all, I really haven't played sitting down with an acoustic for 10 years so I'm still learning how to adjust. Second, there is NO chair that could make it comfortable - it's 45 pounds! The chair was designed for drummers, keyboardists, and guitarists. With my 15 pound Petosa reedless it is a dream chair.

So I'm still learning to use it with the acoustic.

The only problem with the chair is there seems to be something loose in the footring. Seems like Terry had a problem with his too. He said a rivet came loose or something along those lines. Mine seemed more like there was a small piece of loose metal in it. When I spun it around it was kind of like a hula hoop with a bead in it. There are holes in the footring and I tried to spin it for about 5 minutes knowing that the piece would probably fall through one of the holes. I gave up though because it really didn't matter to me. It's really a non-issue.

The leather stitching and quality of the leather are unmatched in anything I have ever seen. The comfort is great.

I recommend SoundSeat 100%.

Tommy

PS> JR did call me right after my chair was delivered and leave a message. And another gentleman from SoundSeat emailed me right after to ask how I liked the chair. Unfortunately I have been so busy lately that I haven't responded. They really do care about their customers.

Soiunds like we bought the same chair. I like mine more and more and the comfort is outstanding.

The replacement footring that JR sent me has been fine and no rattle. I think you might find, if yours has the same problem my first did, you'll be able to wiggle it just a little bit where one of the spokes meets the rim itself. At least that's what caused the rattle in mine.

I can't offer a suggestion because my chair doesn't have the footring you are talking about. J.R. will be reading this thread and will be able to remedy the problem I am sure. He is very concerned about customer satisfaction which combined with the quality and comfort make these seats a great buy. SoundSeat's 10% discount for Synth Zone BBS members is still in effect until Feb 15. These are great chairs for musicians designed by a musician.

WOW! Thanks folks!

The rattle problem you describe is common to most of the foot rings I carry. What you hear are the rivet shafts that are cut in the manufacturing process. We are talking about TWO problems here. Terry's ring was actually missing rivets which caused a separation of the ring from the frame. I have voiced a complaint to my supplier in regard to the quality control issues with these rings. They said they would look into it..........yeah, sure. These rings, being flat like they are are so much better than the round ones that I will just have to inspect them closer before they go out.

Tommy, I will call you to discuss the very easy remedy to the rattle.

Thanks again all.

Thanks JR but it really isn't a problem. I was just noting it for your knowledge. It doesn't make a sound when I play or when I transport it so it really is a non-issue.

Thanks again for a great product!

Thanks Tommy,

I have been trying to call you on this. Now I can remove you from my ''Worry'' list. LOL

My best,
