I kept trying to think of 3 world songs and I realize there are 4. Did Eddie Arnold do all of these?
1. Make the world go away
2. Turn the world around the other way
3. Whats he doing in my world
4. Welcome to my world

Yep, Eddy Arnold recorded all of those.

Cool thread topic. In addition to the ones Donny listed, here are a some more 'off the top' of my head that come to mind:

A Whole New World
What The World Needs Now (Is Love)
End of The World
Color My World
Heart Shaped World
If I Ruled The World
It's A Man's World
I'm Sitting On Top of The World
Top of The World
Joy To the World
Most Beautiful Girl in the World
My World is Empty Without You
It's A Small World (Afterall)
Wild World
Young World
World of Our Own

I've sure there's lots more. Looking forward to hearing from others.

Rockin' all over the world.... Status Quo

Used to be very big in the uk but not sure about the USA. They were famous for using very complex chord progressions ensuring that none of their songs sounded at all familiar

Your my World.... Cilla Black

99% sure this is the song title. Cilla was a pop singer from Liverpool around the time of the Beatles now one of our biggest TV hosts / presenters.

Sorry again! I should have clarified that I meant songs that Eddie Arnold had hits of with the word world.

Don,
So Eddie did "Welcome to my world" also? Or was that Jim Reeves? I was thinking the same thing. I thought Jim reeves did one of these. That is why I asked Again did Eddie do "Welcome to my world also?"

Jim Reeves's version is the definitive hit version (1964), but Eddy Arnold recorded a beautiful rendition of it in 1971 as well. It only reached #34 on the charts whereas Reeve's rendition peaked at #2. I personally enjoy both versions. Boo, hope this clarifies things. How do I know all this? Jim Reeves & Eddy Arnold are both my 'all time' favorite recording artists.

There's one song from Lisa Stansfield I think...."live around the world" or something like that...was pretty well known in the late 80s

Hi KN,
The song was 'All around the world' by the glorious Ms Stansfield.

Just when I had almost given up hope of ever hearing of her again she has recently released a new album over here in the UK.

I adore her voice which is all the more remarkable if you ever hear her speak. Coming from my neck of the woods (up north) she has a very broad accent (rather like my own) but when she sings....WOW the voice of an angel! Now if she can do it WHY CAN'T I ????

Best to you
Tony W
