Can the Roland G70/E80 styles be used with a G800 or RA800 module?

How well, in practice, does this tend to work out, Fran? Have you loaded any G70 styles into a G800 (or even a G1000) and had any success?

What troubles me is the drum part PC#s, and the drum map itself (a little bit different, and with quite a lot of new sounds compared to the old GS-based arrangers.

So...... has anyone actually tried this?

Diki, the G70 styles are my favorite on my G1000..I keep the drum variation on number3..They work fine..Drums play correct, as I said to Cass, and you are aware , the G1000 only will have access to 4 variations, 2 intros and 2 endings..also 4 fills.....a break, and ....Chord sequencer

Are you importing them 'as is', or are you using EMC to tweak?

It occurs to me that perhaps EMC would allow you to pick which fills and intro/outros get used by the G1000....

One of the problems I have noticed with styles and sequences from the G1000 TO the G70 is that Roland changed the note number assignments in the V-Kits..... the G# in the hi-hats is now a half open HH, and the foot closed is on the G# below the kick drum. There are several other changes, too.

I imagine that G70 styles that use the older kits should translate OK, but I have my doubts about some of the Live Band styles, and others, that use the V-Kits.....

But I am very jealous of the Chord Sequencer, and hope the next generation reintroduces this ground-breaking feature - that only a few cognoscenti 'get'!
