After 3 months of exploring the PSR2000, I still find myself confused at times with certain functions.
The latest issue - is it possible to set up registrations in the MUSIC FINDER area similar to the memory registrations?
I have learned how to do the memory regs and thought it may be a better way to set up my programs by listing all my songs I generally play in the music finder, and then add them to the favorites page, however when I go to save the voices, harmony, style, etc there - when I come back later to select a song, the voicing(main, layer, left) reverts back to the original preset for that style (example - I want to set up Hearbeat with an organ voices for main and/or layer but it always reverts to the preset voice whatever that is). Therefore I assumed this cannot be done or am I doing something incorrect (again)?
Appreciate any thoughts on this matter.
Thanks
RicRob

Hi RicRob,

As you've discovered, the Music Finder does not store customized main/left or layered voices. In fact, the 'ONLY' PSR2000 sound/style settings stored in the Music Finder are:

1) Style (and the associated OTS settings saved with that specific style)
2) Tempo

All other Music Finder data fields are of the search genre, beat, tempo variety, useful for exsisting suppplied song selections provided by the song title list updated and available on the SVP World site, but not worth spending time adding new songs to it (just my personal opinion).

As you can see, the Music Finder, though convenient and useful for searching and matching internal styles to specific songs, is pretty limited. I initally (when I first purchased the PSR2000) used the Music Finder to locate suitable styles/tempos for specific popular songs, but once you become familar with all the styles on the 2000, it's a lot faster to just locate the appropriate style directly and setup up the tempo on the fly. I also draw from a large collection of custom Registration Memory setups for a lot of my material (which include voice, style, and other setting). There are so many ways to access song setups on the PSR2000, but I personally find the Memory Registration the MOST flexible & powerful. - Scott
