I've got the Korg book in front of me now and can give more info on this new 88 "real weighted hammer action2 keyboard. The polyphony I was told by Korg was 32 but in fact it is 64 voice polyphony. "There are 6 velocity curve types. There are 396 sound programs. There are 19 different piano sounds. There are also eight special Melody Voice programs featuring natural sounding vibrato that realistically captures each instrument's expressivity. Two sounds can be split or layered." "The SP-500 features Korg's newest Real Weighted Hammer Action 2 keyboard that responds to your playing in the say way a grand piano does." Like the Yamaha P80 and Roland RD700 it is a graded hammer action providing a heavier touch in the low register and a lighter touch as you move up to the higher notes. The SP-500 includes 128 rhythm styles, 26 pianist rhythm styles and 64 user styles you can create and save to memory. There are 37 different effects on board. You can play and save up to 100 songs in the keyboard. You can record in real time or enter in step record mode. One song can be up to 40,000 notes and 8 tracks(control, chord, KBD+5 track).Total max memory is 140,000 notes when 12 songs are recorded. Total max memory is 72,000 notes when 100 songs are recorded. The weight of this keyboard is 42.77lbs.
this keyboard reminds me of the Roland FP3 except there is so much more arranger capabilities and recording capabilities.
