I got the Mackie 808s today from Music 123. I think this is it for me. 40 lbs but sounds very good to me. I also think it is going to help build my confidence. Just knowing it is there with me. Great reverb and plenty of power. No noticable noise today. I was busy trying it out. I'll listen more closly tomorrow for huming or fan noise.

As soon as I sell some gear, I think I'll get the Mackie C300 speakers also.

Boo, make sure you give it a rigorous testing. Pay close attention to the Bass output. The 808S has been known to be weak in that area. The headroom is supposed to be one of the lowest of the Mackie powered Mixers which, btw, is not a good thing if you need plenty of Bass output in your sound.

Best regards,
Mike

Mike.... ease up on the Boo-ster. He labored enough over this whole PA deal. Let him find his own way without the discouraging words. I think the Mackie heads are a good value. They look good, sound good and have been pretty reliable in use. I installed an 808s in a resteraunt last year, and they LOVE it.
