Guys - isn't it worth it ($82 after rebates) just for the Sub? I need a sub and this one is 100 watts. Could I use it w/out the speakers if necessary and just plug into my keyboard?

Hi Randy

I use the sub only for the z5500 with my JBL's. It has a 10" speaker at 188 watts.

I see the stats on this model is Subwoofer: 6.51-inch high-excursion driver, 100 watts.

With mine you could break the windows. I don't think you're going to be playing any thump-thump disco, especially after hearing your tasty sax playing. My hunch is for your needs this would probably do it. But they must have a return policy I would think just in case.

And yes, you don't need to use the satellites, although you may be one that likes the sound from them. I don't like the satellite sound. But then again a bigger center speaker could add more mid.

You can just plug the sub into the headphone jack. Works fine. Mine is a bit louder if I use a mono plug. Just turn the volumes down for the satellites and you should be fine.

Like you say, for that kind of money I think it could add some nice bottom to your sound.

Scott

The only thing...$25 shipping
Makes the price $107

I've always wondered if companies make money on shipping?

and

A $40 rebate.
I hate sending in, and waiting for rebates

Still a decent deal, with a great company

Larry,

Check the fine print with some of these deals. I know of a few folks that purchased their Logitechs from Amazon and other sources at fantastic prices only to find they bought refurbished units with no factory warranty.

Good Luck,

Gary
