I got three back-2-back New Years Eve gigs tonight, ringing in 2005 at 3 separate events. To make it a 4th, I'm inviting EVERYONE here to 'join me' in a special Synthzone New Years 2005 'count-down' here:

My days of playing afternoons on NYE are WAY over. I used to do 2 or 3 then head to the eveing bash, but no more. Too much traffic, too much vocalizing and too little time! Good luck to you young bucks that still want the rat race! I'll do my cushy 8:45 - 12:45 and head home to rest up for my upcoming Florida trip on the 15th !

Happy New Year everyone!

Hey Scott,
Thats a great card you made. Thanks for your time and effort.
I don't envy you three gigs tonight on your side of the bay. Been there and done that too many times.
Jann and I will think about you and the rest of the forum members out there pumping that music as we sit here and listen to selections from the thousands of songs we have here in the studio, many done by synthzone members including the Great Scott Yee.
Best to you and all the synthzone members throughout this next year.

Happy New Year Scott and everyone,

It is already 2005 in the UK. (3.30am as I write this)The house is now empty except for Me, Nig and the dog! I am finishing off the Moet (can't leave an open bottle now can I?) and checking the zone before I go to my bed!

Very best wishes to all for 2005

Tony

Rat Race?! Uncle Dave, are you kidding? Not to me! I made sure my 3 NY's Eve gigs last night were all situated conveniently CLOSE to one another within a 10-15 minute drive. My first gig begining at 4:30pm was for an assisted living nursing home located 2 miles from my house of which I've been playing at for over 5 years. I provided dinner hour background music followed by a short after dinner vocal show & midnight hour (albeit 5 hours early) countdown at 6pm. My second gig (7-9:30pm) was less than a 5 minute drive away, at a small upscale idependent living residential community. I gave them a 45 minute NY Eve vocal keyboard show followed by a midnight countdown at 9pm. Both of these gigs required only having to use my Motion Sound Amp so setup/breakdown was quick (less than 10 minutes max). My final gig was at a private party in a huge mansion overlooking the entire SF Bay area. The party was already packed with guests (150+) when I arrived (10pm). My EV SxA100 PA system was already in setup (as I had set it up earlier in the day there) so I was ready to go at 10:30pm, my scheduled performance time. The catered food & champagne flowed, and the host & guests (ages: 25-80) were in great spirits enjoying & dancing/groovin to my music. Everyone was high in spirit, and believe it or not, not a single obnoxious drunk. It's nights like these that I feel extra appreciative for being able to do what I love: bringing joy to people singing & playing. I arrived home at 2pm tired, but content, especially after discovering the GENEROUS tips in the envelopes I received. I've decided to DONATE all my NY Eve 2004 gig tips to the Tsunami relief fund.

Happy New Year 2005 to: Bebop, TonyW, Uncle Dave, and everyone on the Synthzone Forum.

- Scott

Your best wishes reciprocated Tony.Looking forward to yet another year of medicinal music from you all.Yes, I do mean medicinal, 'cause I need a daily dose to keep me in good spirits
BTW, I heard a track on Radio 2 just before Xmas which was from Belle & Sebastian , called 'Wrapped up in Books'. If you get to listen to it, you will surely recognise the sound of the vocalist - It sounds very much like your own distinctive voice!!! Well, almost, but it hasn't the warmth that we hear in your vocals.
cheers

Eddie,
You are too kind my friend!
Would that I sounded quite that good, I would be a happy man.

Very flattering though that you heard B&S on the radio and thought of me. .... I am smiling from ear to ear. A lovely start to the new year, Thank you

Best wishes
Tony

Thanks for the links!
I listened to the .wma clip but I think it sounded like 'Out in the Country' not the one I heard which sounded like our Tony!
I would like to find another clip - or perhaps I should buy the CD and support our professionals!
