I used to be able to talk with Synthzone buddies (all across the US & all around the world) unlimited talk time, for FREE using Dialpad & Buddyphone. The connection & voice clarity were often as good (or sometimes better) than a standard telephone connection. When these internet telephone services were no longer available for free, I really missed chatting on the telephone with many of you.

Today, I just heard about a service called: Paltalk,
http://www.paltalk.com/paltalk/

This sounds like a free 'PC to PC' and 'PC to phone' service similar to what Dialpad & Buddyphone used to offer. Anyone have experience with Paltalk.com or recommend any other 'PC to PC' and/or 'PC to phone' internet telephone service where we can talk for free?

Scott

Oops, I guess it was too good to be true. Just read 'between the lines" and Pal Talk is NOT free, as I initially had thought.

Oh well.

I've used MSN Messenger for talking with some of my relatives in Europe and seemed to work pretty well. Just make sure you don't have any sort of firewalls at home (routers) or you'll have to configure certain ports to be opened.
I've also used webcam with Messenger and on a 320x240 resolution, using cable on one side and dsl on the other, it seemed pretty smooth.

Now I know you can have unlimited talk using Yahoo messenger and AIM too I think.

If its is for just PC-PC talk, msn or yahoo messenger will work just fine.

The thing with dial-pad was that it was a free pc to phone service. Shame it is not free anymore, i used to use it but now just using my cell is cheaper
