Am I the only one that thinks the Roland EXR-7 is cost too much????? If you can do with 61 keys you could get a PSR-1500 that does more such as voice editing, drawbars, style recording, and more for the same price. I just can't seem to justify nearly $1000 for this Roland.

Starkeeper, you've tested it..., do you think it's worth it or would you rather take a PSR-1500 for the same price?

No question the PSR1500 is hands down better then the EXR-7. In Canada the EXR-7 is a liitle less then PSR1500, but the PSR1500 has way more functionality. The EXR-7 has some buttons for styles, ex. Full Band, Bass & drums, drums only, or something like that. Nice feature, but I presume that there are no functions for removing individual style parts. My PSR550 has that function, as you know, with a button below every part. I assume the PSR1500 can do this as well.
No style creation on the Roland either.
No organ flutes.
The only thing it has over the PSR1500 is the 76 keys. Roland is not even trying to compete with Yamaha.
Roland has some good voices, but few voices could go head to head with the Yamaha sweet voices.
Whenever I see things like that, it makes the conspirator syndrome come out in me. Are Roland and Yamaha in this together. Ex. The Roland is just a marketing throw away (like a loss leader in a grocery store) to make people buy the Yamaha. Maybe not. Just me.

To answer your question. Yes. It is way too much. It should be priced slightly higher then the PSR450 or near the DGX305.
I'm very disapointed with Roland. About 3 years ago I bought a Roland EM20, still have it, because the voices were of a higher quality then Yamaha. That was at a lower price point, I am now comparing the mid-range keyboards, and they just can't compete. Roland has absolutely nothing to compare to the PSR3000. We'll soon see if the high end G70 can compete against the Tyros. It's very interesting to see Roland rushing the G70 to market. What do they know about the Tyros II? Are they trying to get some sales in before Yamaha comes out with a killer upgrade?

I think it is not so.
I think EXR-7 has far better keys, has far better piano voice, some voices are better than 1500 ones...
But you are true. EXR-5 is bad in functionality: you can't modify style parts, edit them or create styles. And its screen likes made 30 years ago.
But, for a pianist, is a lot better to play it than these smaller and filmshy yamaha keys

The piano is good on the Roland, better, is subjective. Ther're just different. I played them side by side, and the Roland acc piano is brighter. The Roland has got plenty of volume though. It is loud at 1/4. The Yamaha acc piano volume has to be set at 1/2 to be at room volume. FOr a pianist, 76 keys are a must, but then they could buy a DGX305.
Roland voices are good: guitars, brass, strings, are very good.

Here in Sweden, where I bought my EXR-7, I only had to pay approx. 60% of what the PSR1500 costs. That was, to me, a reasonable price. I don't see the EXR-7 as a competitor to the PSR1500, rather as a beefed up low-range keyboard. In that respect, I think it stands up fairly well although I must admit that it lacks some features.

It's not like that in the United States. Here the PSR-1500 and the EXR-7 both sell for $1000. I think $1000 is a little too high for the EXR-7. I think $800 would be more reasonable for that keyboard here in the US.

The EXR-7 goes for $1200 CDN. That's about 20% less. Still too much IMO. 60% off sounds like a good deal.
The PSR3000 goes for $2000CDN.
