Hmmm... sounds like marketing hype but it'll be revealing to see what Roland means by "longer stroke" here.

I must say, there are features in this G70 that might make me part with my Tyros.

1. The Keyboard weight, size, # of keys (76).
2. Fantom X Piano patch.
3. Harmonic Bars with Realtime Sliders
4. Styles with 4 variations, 4 intros 4 endings and even 6 fill-ins.
5. Adaptive Chord Voicing
6. Cover / Make Up Tools for customizing Styles

If this baby plays Mp3's then it becomes a no-brainer for me.

I sure hope the G70 doesn't make all the other arrangers obsolete, because I want to sell my 2k and a VR760 to get one of these gems. This is the first time I'm truly excited about a keyboard in about the last 20 years.

What will this monster cost???? I wonder if this keybed they're bragging about is essentially the same one from the XP series????? I say that becaused they boo boo'd on that one. They glued the weightes under the keys and after several years the glue would weaken and off popped the weights.

The way I read the info it would mean that they put in the same keybed that is in the G-1000 arrangers, which a lot of people liked and some didn't like because it was too heavy. In other words, it is somewhere between a "synth" or "organ" feel and a "piano weighted" feel; this is sometimes called "semi-weighted". Both the Tyros and the Pa1X are "tongue in cheek" weighted, ie, they have small metal weights affixed underneath the white keys to give them a better feel.

That's what I was talking about. I used to own one of the XP boards, and when that board was out everyone was talking about how great the keybed is because it was said that Roland used the same keybed from the G-1000 on the XP line up. If this is the case I just hope they used better glue to keep those weights under the keys.

Thanks for the news, Roel! I know the G-series keyboard action. It's a quite good semi-weighted action, but not even close to a weighted hammer action. I believe I renounced forever to have a very good action in an arranger. Unless some "miracle" happens in the technology used to emulate the action of a piano, weighted will always mean "too heavy" for me, and I don't want that. If one day I miss piano action too much (and sometimes I do), I'll purchase a dedicated 88-note piano/synth like a P120 or an S90.

The most exciting thing about the G-70 is this "Adaptive Chord Voicing" technology. I'm very curious about what it'll do for our music making!
