Unpacked the G70 after all of yesterdays trials(see other G70 post) and the packing wasn't right. So continued unpacking and the power chord was missing. Called dealer and told them they sent me a demo and I was paying for new. First guy I talked to was very nice but couldn't under stand how that could happen said he'd call back. Boss called later said mistake was made will over nite power chord(no such thing as overnite where I live) and would knock of $200.00 or pay to return and send another. It looks perfect so I said send the chord I'd try it out and then make my decision. So at least I call read the manual this week end and watch football. Suppose to get in teens tomorrow.

Any standard IEC power cord (Radio Shack near you?) will work......

Disturbing that a certified Roland CK dealer would try to sell a floor model as new... but personally, I would test the G70 thoroughly, and take the $200 - it won't affect your warranty, and you can use the money to get a 512MB card, and an FC-7 foot controller (they are almost mandatory, as far as I am concerned!).

BTW, make sure you have the new OS3 installed - it makes a HUGE difference to the sound...

Today in Monday. they said they overnighted the cord Friday. But I wasn't expecting it here by Saturday (this is Montana) and I don't think they deliver on Sunday. If I don't get the cord today I might just can the thing and send it back. Maybe I was just ment to be a piano player.

Montana,
All do respect, don't give up on it! You can use a standard PC plug--you don't have to wait for the plug to arrive. You can buy an inexpensive PC plug at any local department store (such as Radio Shack).

Synths also use the same standard PC plug as well. I had one go out on me with a synth one time, and I just took the plug from my old PC and voila!

Don't give up man, go out spend the few bucks for the PC plug, you'll be glad you did. Makes no sense to send the G-70 back when the item you need can be picked up locally for very little money. Plus it never hurts to have a spare.

One thing to note.....the G70 takes a two prong plug not a three prong (into the back of the keyboard). All the other brands have three prongs on the back of the board. However, I guess you could use the 3 prong type (although I don't know if you are grounding the G70 this way).

George is right. It is a 2 prong plug not a computer plug. I've got a ton of those. You know George I would have bought this from you but they ofered a no payment no interest till 2008 and this way I didn't have to take the money out of savings and I can pay for it with the jobs I have booked. Anyway I'll see what happens checked the tracking number and it should be devilered by 4:30.

It makes no difference to use a two-prong or three prong cord....... both work fine.

Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, any office supply place, Best Buy...... you have any of these locally?
