I live in Sunny So. California as some of you know by now. To narrow it down further: San Diego North County. I am a 3rd generation Native and I would find it hard to live anywhere else quite frankly. You know what they say about San Diego and vicinity; that it has the BEST climate in the WORLD. The Pacific Ocean, Snow-capped Mountains: Okay Okay "in winter"'sometimes', Desert, our neighbors to the south, ie., Mexico, and Pristine Valleys, all within a short driving distance of each other. And did I mention Sun The only black eye this area has IMO is the traffic grid-lock we have on our Freeways. (Not as bad as L.A. though which lies around 100 miles north of here.) PS: Scott, did you attend UC Berkeley? If you did you will have to include yourself of course in your statement. Best regards, Mike Originally posted by Scottyee: Berkeley, California here (on the other side of the Bay from San Francisco). Home of the world re-nowned University of California (head & largest campus of the statewide Universty of California system) and the CAL Bears, where California culinary cuisine as well as wacky left-ist (aka Bezerkley) politics all began

What a great idea it was to ask where we live! I now have a more intimate understanding of the friends who make up this forum. It seems that most of the members are in USA but I can live with that! I am from Rotherham in Yorkshire,England and have lived here for all of my 70 years. Don't want to live anywhere else, and I bet most of us have the same opinion about our birthplace. We have here in UK a lot of admiration for the USA because you brought us (mainly through the Film Industry)a wonderment of the American life and customs and I for one have appreciated the music and entertainment you brought us. To hear a song titled "I left my heart in San Fransisco" comes easily to our ears but I wonder if a song titled " I left my Heart in Rotherham" would have the same pzazz? Anyway, Rotherham to me is the place where I feel at home in spite of the weather. (But secretly, I would love the opportunity of living for a while in San Fransisco!) cheers Eddie ------------------ Eddie from Rotherham www.yamahakeyboards.info all mail from this url is virus-free thanks to Norton Antivirus2002

As posted earlier "Don't want to live anywhere else, and I bet most of us have the same opinion about our birthplace."
It's great to see where everyone lives, and that someone on the forum is older than myself. There is, however, a place where I've been trying to convince my wife to move for the past quarter century--the lower Florida Keys. She just left to go to work and drove 12 miles through a mix of freezing rain, snow and sleet. By the time she will be ready to return home, the temperature will be in the mid 20s, the snow will be a couple inches deeper and believe me when I say she will not be in a good mood.
I'm still trying to convince her that snow white sand, palm trees, turquoise colored water, great fishing and me playing Jimmy Buffer music in a bar is the only way to live. This is especially true when formal attire is new boat shoes or sandles, clean shorts, a Hawiaan shirt and sun glasses. Oh Yeah!
