Just got my Tyros. I assigned Right #3 to Sub Output #1 and yet while playing with headphones, i push the button for Right #3 and hear it. Shouldn't it be off and only come out of the assigned output????

Also, How do I assign Right #2 to the Volume controller???

Larry, I would think you would want "ALL" parts to be heard through the 'headphones' to 'monitor' your Mix. It is also coming out the assigned output[s] too, right?? Why would you not want it coming out of the 'headphones' also so you could monitor the 'whole' mix with the headphones if necessary? If it's not coming out of the 'assigned' output[s] AT ALL, then you need to change the LINE OUT tab settings in the MIXING CONSOLE to route the sound, ie. R1, R3, etc., to the Sub1, Sub2, or Sub1&2.

If you have a Volume Pedal and want to route the R2 to a Volume Controller you would press the 'Direct Access' button then press the Volume Pedal. At the top of the page under #3 "Volume" - simply enable [ON] R2 Voice to the Volume Pedal and turn [OFF} all the other options, ie., Song, Mic, M. Pad, R1 Voice, etc. so 'only' R2 Voice is [ON]. That should do it. PS: Press the 'Exit' button at the bottom right of the LCD to exit to the main screen after you've set up your preferences accordingly. Although I have not tried this personally myself it should work. If anybody has a spot on answer that is different than the one I gave please chime in.

Regardless of where you assign it out the backside the entire mix will come out of the headphones, as it should. They are a stereo mix of the entire board.

Thanks to both of you. I will try it tomorrow when I start playing with it. Just one other question. Can you assign the vocal harmonizer or mic to sub 1 or 2?????

Also, I had a hard drive installed. Is it hard to set up files and load the floppy disk???

The answer to your first question is yes. Go into the Mixing Console/Line Output and change the Mic to Sub1, Sub2, etc. As long as the Vocal Harmonizer is enabled (green light on) the Harmonizer should work with the Sub1, Sub2, etc.

Second question: Is it hard to set up files and load the floppy disk? You mean, setting up files on the Hard Drive? Not at all. Put the Floppy Disk in the Floppy Disk Drive of the Tyros and if the floppy has Styles on it hit the Style button 'D' then navigate to the FD tab. Copy or Cut the Styles you want to place on the HD1 (Hard Drive) press Copy or Cut, Hit OK, then navigate to the Hard Drive and then press Paste. The Styles will be Copied or Cut from the Floppy Disk onto the Hard Drive. If the Floppy has Midi songs, insert the Floppy Disk in the Tyros Floppy Drive, press 'A' button near top left of LCD screen and do the same thing with the Midi files.

NOTE: If you use the Fast Access Utility on the Tyros (with OS update 1.20) in conjunction with the USB between the Tyros and your PC/MAC to transfer Files to the Tyros Hard Drive, make sure you DON'T transfer "too many" files or too much data at once. If you do transfer too many files at once and try to access them on the Tyros Hard Drive you will encounter an error that says: "too many files in the Folder" and the Tyros won't be able to access those files. They ARE ON the Tyros Hard Drive but you have no way of accessing them. I ran into that problem myself and I had no other choice but to reformat my Tyros Hard Drive!! And in doing so I lost all my other files that were on the Hard Drive. I didn't have too many other files on the Hard Drive so it was no big deal but nevertheless people should know about this file transfer amount limitation. I'm still not sure what is the 'maximum' amount that can be transferred before the Tyros is unable to recognize the Files in a Folder. The Manual seemed to be silent in that regard. And I'm not sure if it's the actual 'number' of FILES or if it's the amount of 'data', ie., Mega Bytes, etc. transferred before the Tyros can't recognize it/them.

Mike: I would like to know more about this. Right now I am having trouble using the USB. Haven't got it to work yet. But, when I do, I surely don't want what you are talking about to happen because once I get a style and speed for a specific tune set in the Music Finder, I pick the best stuff and put it on my hard drive for much faster access which to me is very important in a live situation.

I set my files up on the hard drive like this: Ballad, Country, Fox, Latin, Misc, Pop, R&B, Rock, Swing and Waltz. These are 10 categories and fill only one window and it is a very fast way to go from tune to tune. Sooooooo......, you can see why I am not wanting to re-format my hard drive.

In having Right #2 assigned to the volume controller was no problem. How do you save it. Sometimes in changing styles or shutting on& off, I had to reset the pedal again. Any help??????????????

Also, how do you save the tempo of a style. The factory on let's say Pop Ballad is 60, I like 67 - How do you save it everytime I call it up. Also Can you save the voices with that style????????????????????????
