My 3K middle A is now very loud to the touch. It happened on my first job today and is terribly loud, especially in the piano mode. I could hardly concentrate on my performance

Any suggestions? I have to play my next job like that (trying to not play that note at all) and will be able to look at it tonight.

Thanks in advance. Uh oh.....can't wait for these replies

Zuki, having had this happen to me in the past...... your key contact went bad, happens alot on Yamaha's.... the 3k is different and usues a small contact strip instead of having to replace the entire contact strip like on a Psr9k & others etc....I had this done and it cost around $60-100.00 ... you'll have to order the part & it is possible to do it yourself if so inclined ...Otherwise a Yamaha service center can do it easily & hopefully in a timely manner. After that being its a single contact vs a key strip for all the keys just keep your fingers crossed other keys dont have the same problem.

Good Luck

PS: at least you have the Roland E600 to gig with as backup.

Thanks Donny. I'll order the part I guess. The E-600 - no way live. I'd rather keep away from the A note.

I sold my PSR3000 and bought the PSR-S900 not only for the upgrade, but because of the mileage on my PSR3000.

I always own two of the keyboard that I perform on every day in case one goes bad - and so I don't have to drag a keyboard in and out of the house just to practice and edit my collection of styles, registrations, voices, and multipads.

When I once inquired to my service tech about the contact strip, he told me that it would have to be ordered. I hope that you don't have to wait too long.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just get Scott to teach you some "rootless chords".
