Zuki,

Call Yamaha's customer service department at 714-522-9000 and order the part. The strip is one octave long, it cost under $20, and it's not at all difficult to replace.

As for gigging durability, I've been using a pair of 3000s since the first day they came on the market in the mid-Atlantic region. I have never had to replace a keypad strip or a button board and I perform one to two jobs nearly every day of the week. However, until recently I had a spare strip in my office at all times--just in case. A few months ago, I used my spare to repair a friends keyboard.

Good Luck,

Gary

Well, obviously it wouldn't help that particular key, but, if someone tends to play mostly in a certain range then this could bypass the use of that key.

If it gets worse and your repair parts are not ready, then shut the velocity OFF. That will raise the volume of every note to meet the offensive one.( lousy for piano sounds, but at least constant volume. )

You can then lower the general volume and modify your playing style for a bit till the repair is done.

Not the favorite way to play, but better tyan having that random SHOUT in the middle of a ballad!

FIXED Was a broken contact and a local repair shop fixed it ON THE SPOT! This was a great experience that allowed me to find a center to quickly take care of my woes.

On to the next board now
