AJ, Congradulations on your new carrier with the Ketron Family,,It was a pleasure to meet you at the show.
I hope you and Sandro will have the time to review and consider the wish list me and my friends discussed with you regarding the SD1 and the X1.
Since you got the technical support position in the USA, let me the first person to report that the MSP file made on the SD1 will not work on the X1 you will get the error message saying "size error". Have you experienced this problem??? and if you did , please let me know the solution to go arround the problem..
Thanks AJ, and welcome to the Tech Support world..

George.

Hi Aj, Just wondering if you had a chance to look into thr problem with the "size error", message comming on the x1.
If you try to load a MSP file that was made on the SD1, to the X1, it will give you that message.

George,

As is the case with most tech today, compatibility is usually uni-directional & downward. The newer models will recognize and LOAD (to an extent) files that were created/ment for older models, but the reverse won't always be true. The X1 will not read most files created on the SD1 except MIDI files due to differences in buffer & memory size, and configuration. For the SD1 to sound as good as it does, a lot of revision had to be made on the tone generators and more memory was needed (which is currently not present on the X1). So when you create & SAVE an MSP on the SD1, the file is configured in a manner not 'understood' by the X1 for the SD1.

A work-about will be to:
* physically link the SD1's output to the X1's input using a 1/4" cable.
* LOAD the MSP into the SD1.
* Press SEQUENCER tab on the X1 and RECORD samples manually (you might need to repeat for each MSP).
* Later, SAVE in X1 all files recorded. When complete, proceed to CREATE MSP in X1. This way, you'll have the MSP in the X1 with the X1's format. Maybe there is software out there (which I am unaware of) that can achieve this with less steps!

Thanks for your comments wrt KETRON and I hope my above solutions helps ... in a way.

AJ

AJ, Just to let you know, I had to do the msp on the x1 in a different way, easier, faster,.
Copy the wave files into the hard drive and start with a new msp file load the wav files, keymap them, add the efx.and save as a new msp..I hope this helps others also..
Thanks for the Idea thougt AJ..

George..
