Korg have just added the guitar mode (similar to the roland G70) to the PA800 and i am told it will be cascaded back to the PA1X. Just another example of Korgs long term investment and developement in their product range and therefore continued support to its loyal client base. Once again my instrument is going to be updated and made more valuable to me than when i first purchased it FOR FREE. Kind of weakens the debate concerning open and closed systems just a bit ......

I've always thought Korg kicked Yammies and Roland's butts clean out of the park when it came to support for their arrangers.

That's very cool they're adding a "guitar mode" similiar to Roland. That feature alone will open up a lot of possibilites to players who want more realistic guitar tracks.

It is nice to see support like this.

Bravo Korg!

I would have agreed with you in the past, squeak, about BOTH Roland and Yamaha's lack of updates (although my G1000 was basically bug-free the way I used it from the git-go, no new features ever got added), but I have to admit, the G70 is the most updated and improved arranger in Roland history, so it looks like they finally have moved over to the Korg model....

Don't forget, the Guitar Mode was an entirely new feature to the G70 they added for free over a year after the G70 was released. Then add in the per-Part EQ they added some months after that, plus an entirely new OTS system, and I for one have no complaints about Roland's upgrade policy!

Curious to know how the Korg compares to Yammy (per se the 3000) in live operation friendliness.

Spalding,

Sorry, it was just a failed attempt to be funny - I forgot the smiley There has been so much good Korg news in the recent weeks that someone here at Synthzone might have grown tired of it. And actually I did post even more information about the guitar mode if you had read the second half of my message. It is the second time this week that someone has misunderstood what I meant. It might have something to do with my native language not being English. In the future I will be more careful

As you should know from Korg Forums I am probably one of the biggest Korg fans

Kind regards,
Tommy
