I recorded a few songs with my G70 and I thought it would be good to share them since most members have not had a chance to hear the G70. The file named Leon Sash is a jazz tune written by Leon Sash (a jazz accordion player). I used the classic big band style with the vk8 organ on the right hand. On the God Father Waltz I used the folk valzer 1 style. I used cakewalk home studio with an M-audio firewire 410 interface. This was my first attempt at recording. Also, I am not a professional musician. http://cpajimp.tripod.com/leon_sash.mp3http://cpajimp.tripod.com/godfather_waltz.mp3

When I click on the links in my original post, tripod does not let me open or download the files. When I enter the link directly in my browser, it works fine. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hey Jim,
Here's a cut&paste from Tripod's help files:
What is remote loading?
Remote loading is using your Tripod account for the purpose of storing files (images, etc.) for use on another site, or for backup purposes. For free users, Remote Loading is unavailable. Free Tripod accounts used for Remote Loading violate our terms of service. If you would like to upgrade to a Tripod Paid Package.
So what's happening is, the Synthzone webpage sends the Tripod website "referer" information (it was the Synthzone that "referred" you to Tripod). Tripod doesn't like that. When you plug the URL into a browser straight up (not from a link on another web page), that's okay.
By the way, I thought the clips sounded very good. Very nice sounds.
Jim, thank you for posting these songs; MP3s made with the G 70 are so rare that every opportunity to hear them is precious. Did you upgrade the OS to 1.10?

JimP: Good job, especially for a first attempt at recording. Though you may not be a pro musician (yet), you're well on the road to becoming one. Keep up the good work.
I enjoyed your organ blues melody riff & solo on demo1, but felt it was sabatoged by the (robotic) sounding repetious G70 style. I found the 'exact same' repetitous snare fill annoying. The waltz style used on your Grandfather Waltz tune also sounded (at least to me) robotically quantized(omph pa pa) too. I feel these specific G70 auto accomp styles don't breathe musically. I only hope the other G70 styles fare better. On the other hand, your melody instrument patches: 'accordian' & 'organ' sound pretty decent, though not exceptional (seem to lack spark & sizzle). JimP, looking forward to hearing more music from you as you explore and master your G70's capabilities. Keep up the good work.
Jim, Thanks for your recordings, probably the best sounding ones (created by users) I heard so far. It seems you did some DSP tweaking to eliminate the 'distance miking/bathtub' feel.
I do like your playing but agree with Scott about the styles..... in fact it was the main reason for returning my G70 to the store... 7 months ago
Jim P. Very nice work... Thank you for sharing. I look forward to hearing more of your work. The G70 sounds good to me.
To those harsh critics of the G70 I would enjoy hearing if/why you think these recordings sound bad. I find the styles on G70 to be clean, dynamic and robust yet maintaining clear and distinct style voices.
TresorTX, As I wrote before : These recordings done by JimP sound absolutely fantastic.
It must be a matter of taste and what kind of styles you are used to use, but after I owned Technics KN's, Solton X1 and Ketron SD1 (all having fantastic styles/voices) the G shows only a little 'musical quality/feel' IMHO
Now I own the Tyros since a couple of months and in my view the musical feel and style quality is much higher.....
