Unfortunaetly the Tyros2 did not win in the latest Musikmesse International Press Awards (2006) in the "Organ/Portable Keyboard" category. M.I.P.A., by the way, has come to be regarded as the "Grammy" of the Musical Instrument/Pro Audio industry.
The Hammond XK-3 won the top prize followed by the Roland G70 and Tyros2. Here are the complete results:
M.I.P.A. 2006 awards >> You would think with the new Super Articulated Voices that the Tyros2 should have mustered better.
OTOH, and something I am very proud of I might add
, is the fact that the original Tyros won first prize at the M.I.P.A. 2003 awards beating out the Roland VK-88 and Korg BX-3. You can read it here:
M.I.P.A. 2003 awards One more reason why I'm glad I didn't upgrade to a Tyros2.
But give me '76' keys and I still might. But it has to be in the 30-38 pound range and no heavier.
Best regards,
Mike
