Sounds to me like THIS box and PSR came from "out of area" and may have been "Grey Market". Better check because this could change warranty coverage. Take a close look at the Warranty Card that came with the synth.

What warranty card? no, im not kidding! but my warranty isnt from yamaha. its from the dude i bought the board from. or thats what he told me, anyway. :-

I suppose the thing to do would be call Yamaha and ask them to check the serial number to see what the deal is.

I wouldn't worry too much. If the store where you made your purchase is willing to take on the responsibility of the warranty thats alright.(hope you got it in writing.)
More than likely, you will have no problems whatsoever with your Yamaha keyboard.
