I have been recently considering changing VA-5 for G-70. However, Iīve been solving the following problem:
The keyboard Roland VA-5 is eqipped with REVERB, CHORUS, DELAY and one MULTI-FX effect. I use REVERB, CHORUS and DELAY effects for SONG PLAYBACK as well as for KEYBOARD PARTs. MULTI-FX effect is used for KEYBOARD PARTs.
For STYLE/SONG PLAYBACK, Roland G-70 is equipped only with REVERB and CHORUS effects, i.e. the DELAY effect is missing. For KEYBOARD PARTs another independent REVERB, CHORUS and one MULTI-FX are available. Apart from that, there is also another MULTI-FX for AUDIO-IN which I am not going to use at all.
In order to substitute the missing DELAY effect, is it possible to use MULTI-FX for AUDIO-IN for one (as an insertion) or for more (as a system) parts of a song?
Does the instrument documentation contain a complete MIDI implementation, including the Sys-Ex data format describing e.g. setting up a particular effect and concrete parameters through MIDI? There is only the Midi Implementation Chart in the manual. Nevertheless, there is nothing like that in the reference handbook. I work exclusively with SW sequencer. That is why I cannot manage without such information. I have found the Userīs Manual and the Reference handbook at http://www.rolandkeyboardclub.com , but a detailed midi implementation is missing.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter...

Delay is available as reverb type of Style/Song effect.
It is not possible (currently) to use Audio-In MFX as additional effect for Song/Styles.
If you want, anyway, it is possible to turn some song parts into real-time (keyboard) parts, so that you can use keyboard part MFX when playing them.

Sorry, I forgot...

...A complete MIDI implementation manual is available on demand from Distributors and/or Service Centers. If you have any problem in getting it, please tell me.
