I saw on a dutch forum that several keyboard
players do not believe what Roel said in his
messages. He is negative for personal reasons
when he talks about the G70. They doubt that
he had really a G70.
MikeTV seems an expert but he is not! He is
telling things which are not true.
Do not let them cheat you and wait untill you
can play the G70 with your own hands.
There are no bad topkeyboards to day.
I am not a keyboardseller only a keyboard-
lover and I hate lies about newcomers in the
market.

Well said Bevan. I agree with you some guys
or girls here are like politicians before
an election. You can not trust them allways.

Well put Bevan, let's all keep an open mind and find out for ourselves what pleases us most. It's far too easy to jump into conclusions only on the basis of what a few people say. Especially while you have the opportunity to check things out yourself (now or in a few weeks time in other countries).

By the way, I have also been following the reports that are posted on this Dutch forum and by now a few more people have the G-70 delivered. They tell us unanimously that they cannot confirm any of the negative comments. Their first impressions all seem to be very positive.

For the record: I am no Roland employee or shop-owner. In fact I play a Technics at the moment .

The People you mentioned above are trustworthy..we all draw our opinions..it doesn't make the product right or wrong...I do agree with you about waiting too try the G70 for ourselves..Personally, I am sure the G70 will be a great board..
We often jump to conclusions with our first impressions..I did it with the VA-7, after I bought one, I sold it because it didn't do the job the way my G1000 did...Later I bought a version2 VA-7, and forced myself to use the goodies beneath the surface,,,and I loved it...I actually sold it to make room for a G70..

Fran, you sold your VA-7 already and you have set your mind on the G-70? You must have a great confidence in Roland!
Does that mean you are without keys at the moment? If so, that must feel weird.

Fran, that G1000 was really a hit for Roland and seems to be in a lot of music studios and is being lugged along on a lot of gigs! Let's hope that the G-70 sets the new standard.

And Polidenk, congratulations on your new keyboard. Let us know about you experiences when you have it in your home ok?

Bevan,
Thank you very much for letting us (me) know this "facts".
What did I write what is not true ?
Why should I be 'negative' towards Roland?
I tried to explain on dutch forums why I did return the G70 :
My high expectations that did not come out,
A few software hangups,
Me disliking the styles,
Me perhaps being 'spoiled' with the SD1 Ketron,
etc.

I just put my opinions on the web and some people disliked that.... so?
The G70 I had was the very first one in 'private hands' and probably an incomplete one..... you forgot ALL members were VERY curious about my findings?

Then after giving my findings they are marked as LIES ?

Thanks again.

Hi Bevan

I make no claims to be any kind of expert, and have no axe to grind in favour of any manufacturer. I don't work in the music industry beyond playing in a band.

However, I do beleive that any posting I have made is factually correct where I have tried to describe a particular feature or function of any keyboard, and is either based on thorough hands-on experience over several years (Korg i3 and i30HDD - currently a Roland VA76 for over two years), or is based on a careful examination of the relevent section of the manufacturers own User Manual (G-70).

I have no interest in misleading anyone.

Further, I have NOT dismissed the G-70 as a possible future purchase for myself. I am merely expressing disappointment that some of it's facilities are still not as good as I would expect for the price. I think it will undoubtedly be an improvement over the VA series.

Regards & Happy Chrismas - Mike
