Using Cubase Audio on an Atari Falcon 030 is the best and easiest way for working that I know. This program includes a special drum page, midi page, master track control, auto punch-in and punch-out, phrase synthesizer, digital effects, and so on...

b) a "note processor" (or "note arranger" if you like) tool (i.e. once i press a note, using this tool I can repeat infinitely the note pressed, editing tempo of repeating too)
A notator software is also available for this system. Cubase is the leading product on the music market.
If you mean that the Atari is too old for your interests you may want to have a newer hard- and software. Ask Steinberg (or your music dealer) for PC or Mac software (I think it's called 'Cubase SX') which will cost about 800,- Euro (= less than 1,000 $US).
