Uncle Dave,

Thanks very much for the warm welcome.

Since you are very familiar with these keyboards, and have experience setting them up for someone that can't use the display, what is your recommendation for making the best use of registrations? Is it better to use one full registration bank per song, storing everything including styles, or is it better to think of the registrations in terms of instrumentation and only have a few reg banks depending on what combination of voices you want to use?

I have kind of been leaning towards using one reg bank per song, where everything is captured, even pedal assignments and styles, but I admit I have trouble remembering where and how to make some of the settings I want. Do the folks you have done setups for have some sort of system they use to make things easier?

Rick

Anyway ........ welcome to the family, and have a great stay!

Rick, thank you for the nice words. You are too kind.

And you'll equally marvel how much you'll be able to do with your PSR3000 as well.

Yep, music's a life-long journey of exciting new discoveries & challenges. I've been playing keyboards & singing since I was 4, and appreciate how arranger keyboards can enhance & expand the music performance possibilities for the solo musician. Rick, enjoy the ride.

I believe the PSR3000 will offer everything you'll need for a very LONG time. Afterall, the essence of music creation comes from within us (HEART & SOUL), not from ANY keyboard.

Rick, looking forward to your participation here of which I hope includes, hearing some of your music created on your PSR3000 as well.

Scott

Rick ... a really BIG welcome to this group of sometimes (? ) opinionated. egotistical, hard-headed, hard hitting, dysfunctional individuals ... just like any other family, ... where you will get more help, advice, and support than anywhere else on the 'net ... UNLIKE some other families ...

Ramy,

Thanks for the suggestion. I did indeed download the Tyros styles, and I am glad i did. I gained some additional styles over the 3000 that are awesome, especially in the Latin group.

I also ran across another set of Tyros styles called Tyros Premium, but after checking the zip file, they have different extensions. They are not .sty. There were some .psr extensions, and some others I was not familiar with. Any idea what they are?

Rick

And as you already said since the PSR-3000 has got the megavoice technology so it should be the closest and most compatible to Tyros

Did you try to load them into your keyboard?
If you couldn't do so just rename the extension from .prs to .sty and load them.
