I'm going to be the entertainment at a party that is going to have a tropical theme. Most of the folks will be over 60 and very few of them will have heard of Jimmy Buffet. We hope to have a conga line. Any song suggestions?

How about "Jump In The Line" by Harry Belafonte?

Or "Hot Hot Hot"
http://users1.ee.net/lstone/midi.htm

And don't be too quick to determine whether or not they've heard of Buffet...

PS ... I have not HEARD these midi files ... just did a quick 'google'

I was playin' fer 80-year-olds today that knew all the words to Margarettaville. Believe me, they know Buffett!

Tom......why learn new stuff just for one gig?..take songs you know & they already know and change the styles to adapt to the theme....use carribean, limbo, reggea, samba, cuban bolero, merengue, rhumba island, salsa & use steel drums, marimba, etc to make it sound tropical.. etc etc & also make it dancable as always!!

good luck
