Been playing around with "The Look of Love"

Its in 4/4 time throughout most of the song then switches to 6/4 for one measure...

What are some ways of handling this on the Tyros?

Bill: I know just the measure you're speaking of. In cases, where the odd measure is compensated for later in the song, I just ride with the off beat, but in this specific situation with only ONE odd measure, I just convert the the odd 6/4 measure into two measures of 4/4. Thus in the associated lyric line:

"How long I have waited", I have 'How' come in on beat 4 of the first measure of the afore-mentioned 2 measures. The word 'long' is played (sung) on the 'AND of 4' and 1 of the next measure. "I" would occur on (&2) , "have" on (&) and "Waited" on beats (3&) and (4&) consecutively. Though not accurately to the Burt Bacharach's score, it sounds pretty decent & acceptable to my (and most ears) and beats having to work out a custom style pattern for this specific song only. btw: I use a latin bossa for this song. - Scott

I have this problem, all the time. My solution: use the stop sync button. Works perfectly.
