I have tried a lot of keyboards lately in the $500-1000 range and the winner is

YAMAHA PSR2000 AND PSR1000 has won the contest hands down !!!!

Here is the rating from 1-10 from MY perspective.

Sounds: basic voices such as piano, bass, strings, brass, sax as heard from the internal speaker and also using external amplification
