Hello and thankyou chaps, some first impressions. I have a full time job, wife, three kids and a cat, so my impression is just preliminary! First, I bought the speakers as well, which means I have to fasten the brackets with 2x2 screws. My question is, do these brackets get damaged if you put the keyboards on them, or, does Yamaha provide another snaplock bracket solution, because I'm certainly not going to unscrew, screw(!) every time I go out for a gig. Second, and maybe someone can enlighten me, how do I fasten the sheet stand?? (when I get home today I'll read the instructions!) Do I have to buy the stand? I don't need a stand, because I have a fabulous stand from K&M with sheet and mic holder allready. A lot has been reported on the styles allready, and I won't repeat what is said, however, I'm left with some initial impressions, good but also some disappointment. Fair enough, there are some new country (modern country) styles, but I missed some punch in the country rock department. For instance, take the tune "Tulsa Time". This tune need a good solid backbeat at around 124-128 bpm. I only found one or two variations of "60's rock and roll", and maybe one var of "Blues rock" that would fit this particular song. This is a typical line dance beat where I had hoped for more selections. I hope for other style providers to build a better selection of these for the Tyros in the future. Dance had a lot of great styles, and the waltzes were much, much better. Swing and jive styles are extremely good, and my opinion is that there is no better keyboard for these styles than the Tyros. The ballad styles will fill any need you have. One thing that I really enjoyed was the music pads, these were greatly improved. This has been mentioned before, but the modern beats that you can mix with standard styles gives you multiple remix possibilities if you need too please a younger audience, or just beef up an old trusty tune. This is just a short first impression, and I will report back with more later, need to get back to work!!

Lou, I mean the multi pads, of course. As you play a regular style, you can enter the multi pad bank, like most Yamaha and Technic boards I believe. However, with the Tyros there are some really great programmed grooves with dance kits and other percussions that sync to your style. If you let these run along with your style you get excellent remix effects. Like with the Mega Voice guitars, as you gradually hit one bank after the other, you hear how lifelike these sounds are sampled, you get pick noise, scratch etc. Hope this cleared up some. jedi, to me the action feel better than my 9000. A little more pressure needed and more cushion at the bottom. By the way, I spent another hour last night with the styles, and let me tell you jazz-fans out there, eat your heart out! The jazz styles are fantastic! Roy-Andrč
