Hi, new user here, but have been reading this board for over a year now. I am really looking forward to the launch of the PSR-S900 and I am a little disapointed that it was not launched at winter NAMM.

Not too sure if this is new, but according to this site, looks like the PSR-S700 and PSR-S900 will be launching at Frankfurt 2007 in March:

http://www.musicallin.nl/nieuws

Scroll down to the last news item for the info. Translated into english, it reads:

"Presentation of the newest YAMAHA keyboards among which PSR-S500, PSR-S700 and spectacular PSR-S900 the model by MARCO RIEDIJK. Marco Riedijk are rapidly of the more known keyboarddemonstrateurs in the Netherlands for becoming. Good clear explanation of the newest models. For every keyboardliefhebber this presentation/demonstration a must is."

Location: Music All In-Noordwijk
Access free.

Room open as from 7 hours

Really can't wait to see what is in store for us - I can't wait to get my hands on the PSR-S900.

Regards
James

I have also noticed that this UK-based company have the PSR-S700 and PSR-S900 listed on their site for the past week (albeit in hidden form and without any details yet):

http://www.bonnersmusic.co.uk/acatalog/Yamaha_Keyboards.html

scroll down to the very bottom of the page and you will find 2 x "More Info" links that, once opened, contain the two model numbers. Hopefully this means a release in the UK fairly soon (we got the PSR-S500 over here back in Nov/Dec)??

James

Cheers Dnj - will do. I must admit that my anticipation for the PSR-S900 is reaching fever pitch!! I already know that I'm going to get one of these on launch (already have the funds put by) - it's now just a matter of time......

I was tempted to get the PSR-S500 as a cheap 3rd keyboard, but despite it's decent looking specs (sounds and styles),smart looks and reasonable price, the lack of Fingered On Bass and only 32 poly would frustrate me I'm sure.

I just have a good feeling that Yamaha will deliver the goods with the PSR-S900.

James

The s900 will be an upgrade from which model? Also, any idea of price?

It will replace the PSR 3000 - no idea on cost, but would expect it to be priced in the same region (if not cheaper) as the 3000. I have put £1300 aside to buy one on release - hopefully that will cover it!

My U.S. source tells me the PSR-S900 will not be available here until late summer, but I imagine it could be somewhat earlier if PSR-3000 sales drop for some unexplained reason. I would sure like to see some detailed specifications on the keyboard, but thus far Yamaha has failed to provide them to the general public or any of its dealers.

Cheers,

Gary

Hi Gary, that's a good point about sales of the PSR 3000 in the UK - very few UK retailers have them in stock for delivery, so it must still be selling really well. I sure hope I don't have to wait till late summer to get my hands on one, but I suppose all good things.........

I'm really interested to see some specs on this one, I'm sure we will get some of the Tyros 2 SA voices, better sound system, new styles, better screen etc, etc, but I hope we get some exclusives here too - some things that are not found on the T2. Either way, I think it will be a great arranger keyboard.

James

James,

That's GREAT NEWS! Like Donny (dnj) I need a new toy that will boost my music composing once again, even if it has only 61 keys (got tired of the DGX-305).

Like you, I liked the specs of the S500 but the lack of L/R outputs was the decisive factor.

Regards,
George
