I've been trying out the G-70 over the last couple of months in my local (Wirral UK) music shop, Dawsons. Couldn't understand all the bad comments as I thought it sounded great. I already have a Tyros and recently sold a KN7000. The I tried the G-70 in a different shop and it did sound terrible. The sounds were all swamped with reverb. I had to go back to the original shop to play the keyboard there and it sounded smashing again. I can only assume that the one I tried in Liverpool was running with the original operating system. I have paid a deposit on the G-70 and should pay the balance and take delivery in about 3-4 weeks.

Congratulations, barnabymagic. I think you'll be very happy with the G70 for many years (I made my G1000 last for 6-7 years gigging every day!)

Paid a further substantial deposit for the G-70 on Friday and the shop have now ordered the keyboard. Should be ready this week, and the final balance should be received by me this week too (I've been waiting for some money owed to me). When I paid the 2nd deposit, I had a go on the keyboard again, trying out the 'music assistant' and playing a couple of the suggested set ups. 'Brown eyed girl' is a song I've been singing in my magic shows recently and the backing and registration set up is great. Better than my Tyros for which I use the 'Heartbeat' registration for B.E.G.I also played 'Beyond The Sea' using the suggested set up and once again was chuffed (delighted). Can't wait to take delivery in about a weeks time.
