Hi people.. I'm new here so bare with me!

Got a question for all and any - I've recently bought myself the audiophile 2496 card, which I'm using on WindowsXP.. or trying to!

Probs I'm having are:

- Lots of popping and clicking when playing back any audio source. I've tried raising the dma buffer size, but no matter how high I go I keep getting the pops etc!

- Sync'ing the audiophile with the roland vm-3100. I set the cards clock to s/pdif in, in the hope of getting digital playback and recording, but the roland won't lock, and keeps setting itself to 'internal' - nothing i seem to do makes any difference!

Any suggestions are greatly welcomed!

Scottie.

Could you be more specific about what the sync settings say? What do you mean you set the clock to S/PDIF in?

Yeah, basically I attach the audiophile and vm-3100 via coaxial spdif...

If I set the audiophile's clock to 'internal xtal' then the VM sync's fine, but obviously it wont send a signal to record into my pc.

If I set the audiophile's clock to 'spdif in' then the VM loses the sync. I can record in digitally this way, but no 'digital' playback...

I think you should keep the audiophile/computer as the master. If both ends support clock-sync through S/PDIF, then it should work. Otherwise you'll have to sync through other means. You should still be able to record digitally.

Both ends sync fine if I use the audiophile's internal clock, but there's no signal present when i come to recording into the computer digitally...

for example. if i open up soundforge, select spdif as the input, and hit some notes on my synths (which are attached to the VM), then nothing displays or is heard in soundforge.

The only advice I've got left is to check the settings, dig out the manuals and check drivers/compatibility. Not just Audiophile, but for the software you're using too.
